Changes Coming to "American Idol" Reboot

A producer for the reboot of “American Idol” has revealed that we won’t be seeing any bad auditions this time around.  Trish Kinane told the Hollywood Reporter, “It doesn’t feel comfortable to put borderline unstable people up on stage and laugh at them.  I think that people once thought that the judges saw everyone, and now you know there’s a line of producers who screen before them.  We want the humor, but we don’t want the exploitation.”  The new show premieres on March 11th on ABC.

Tonya Harding almost walked off the set of an interview with Piers Morgan on Monday after he brought up Nancy Kerrigan.  Harding has been doing a lot of press to promote the movie, “I, Tonya,” starring Margot Robbie.  Morgan said to her during “Good Morning Britain,” “Maybe it suits you to play the victim, but I think the victim in all of this wasn’t you.  It was Nancy Kerrigan who had her Olympic dream shattered quite literally in her legs.”  Harding responded, “Thank you so much.  I appreciate being on your show, but I think I’m going to have to say have a good night.”  He questioned her decision to end the interview and she said she wasn’t allowed to finish her response.  The interview did continue, and Harding insisted she didn’t know the attack on Kerrigan was going to happen.

Golden Globe winner James Franco addressed recent sexual misconduct allegations last night on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert.  At least two actresses and one filmmaker each accused him on social media of earlier instances, even though the actor wore a “Time’s Up” pin at the awards ceremony Sunday.  Franco told Colbert that the “things that I heard on Twitter are not accurate, but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice.”  He also said, “If there is a restitution to be made I will make it.  If I have done something wrong, I will fix it.  I have to.”
