Golden Globes: And the Winners ARE...

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards went down last night in Beverly Hills.  It was a politically charged ceremony in the wake of sexual harassment allegations throughout Hollywood.  The hastag “Oprah2020” got trending on Twitter during her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.  She received multiple standing ovations as she talked about equality for women.  HBO’s “Big Little Lies” was a big winner for the evening, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” took home the most movie awards.

Best Motion Picture, Drama – “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”

Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy – “Lady Bird”

Best Animated Feature Film – “Coco”

Best TV Series, Drama – “The Handmaid’s Tale”

Best TV Series, Comedy – “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

A funny note from the Golden Globes evening:  You may have seen a quick shot of Kelly Clarkson talking to nominee Steve Carrell.  This was the first time they met!  Steve Carrell famously shouts out Kelly’s name in his waxing scene from “40 Year Old Virgin.”  The comedy came out in 2005, so now more than a decade later they finally met face-to-face.  Kelly was there as a presenter, and Steve was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for his role in “Battle of the Sexes.”  You can see them chatting it up HERE.

Justin Timberlake announced his “Man of the Woods” tour this morning!  He’ll be coming to New York March 21st!  Tickets go on sale January 16th.  WATCH his announcement video:

Sara Bareilles will play “Mary Magdalene” in NBC’s live version of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”  She joins John Legend, who will play “Jesus,” and Alice Cooper, who will play “King Herod.”  “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert” will air on Easter Sunday, April 1st.

Selena Gomez knocked on the door of her childhood home, but nobody answered!  She posted a picture on Instagram sitting on the porch of the Grand Prairie, Texas house she grew up in.  She explained that she visits the house often and appreciates where she came from.

There’s a new number one at the box office!  “Jumanji” jumped to the top, while “The Last Jedi” fell two spots.
