Gwyneth Paltrow Details Encounter with Harvey Weinstein

More and more actors are speaking out about working with ruined Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck who both said they had no idea what he was doing.  Angelina Jolie revealed, “I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did.”  Also, Gwyneth Paltrow said when she was 22 and cast as the lead in “Emma,” Weinstein invited her for a meeting where he proceeded to put his hands on her.  She said, “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” and added she was afraid of losing her role.  She confided in her boyfriend at the time – Brad Pitt.  Pitt has confirmed the story and that he eventually confronted Weinstein and told him to never touch her again.  Jennifer Lawrence worked with Weinstein a few years ago:  “I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behavior…I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations.  This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting.  My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions.  And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward.”

Lindsay Lohen used Instagram to defend Harvey Weinstein.  Her Instagram story has since been deleted from her account, but she talked about how Weinstein never “harmed” her.  She said, “I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now…I think [his wife] Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband…We’ve done several movies together.  I think everyone needs to stop – I think it’s wrong.”  Georgina Chapman announced she is leaving Weinstein after 10 years of marriage following the sexual harassment allegations against him.  Weinstein is reportedly on his way to a rehab center in Europe for treatment.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James announced the release of her latest novel, which will tell the “Fifty Shades” story from the perspective of Christian Grey himself.  “Darker:  Fifty Shades Darker as Told by Christian” will come out November 28th.  James describes it as a “darker and more haunted” take on the character.
