Billy Joel Donates Half a Million to Sag Harbor Cinema

Billy Joel has donated $500,000 to the effort to rebuild the Sag Harbor Cinema, which was damaged in a fire back in December.  The Sag Harbor Partnership, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring the theater, said his donation earns him naming rights for the theater’s popcorn stand!

Rocker Chris Cornell, best known as the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave, passed away Wednesday night at the age of 52.  His rep called his death “sudden and unexpected.”  His family will be working closely with a medical examiner to determine the cause and is asking for privacy.

The secret is out about Taylor Swift’s new relationship with British actor/model Joe Alwyn.  They were trying to keep it private, and she is reportedly a little “bummed" that the news got out.  But one source says she can “relax” and “just enjoy being with him.”  The source also said she’s been going back and forth between Nashville and the U.K. for the last few months.

ABC will air a three hour primetime TV special, Rolling Stone 50 live from New York next February 7th to commemorate the magazine’s 50th anniversary.  The magazine's first issue was actually published on November 9th, 1967. No artists have been announced for it yet, but the network says the show "will pay homage to the brand’s influence and impact through a curated journey of its most seminal moments." It promises "live performances, short films, iconic on-stage moments, never-before-seen musical pairings, and celebrities that have shaped pop culture, music and politics."

CBS announced yesterday that James Corden will host the Grammy Awards once again.

Conan O'Brien has signed on for another four years as host of TBS's late-night talk show.

“Arrested Development” will officially return for season five on Netflix in 2018.  Jason Bateman and the rest of the cast will all be back after season four premiered in 2013.

Nick and Aaron Carter’s father, Robert Gene Carter, passed away suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 65.
