FOX has ordered a new 10-episode event series of “The X-Files,” premiering at the end of the year. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will reprise their roles as Mulder and Scully.
The MTV Video Music Awards will return to Los Angeles this year. The show was in New York last year. The event airs August 27th. Nominees will be announced at a later date.
Kris Jenner is fuming over her ex-husband Caitlyn Jenner’s upcoming memoir, “The Secrets of My Life.” The two were married 1991-2015 and had daughters Kendall and Kylie. In a clip released from this Sunday’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kris said that she read the book and “basically the only nice thing she had to say was that I was great socially at a party one time.” She continues, “None of it makes sense…Everything she says is all made up.” The book will be released on Tuesday.
A rep for Serena Williams says the tennis star will take maternity leave after she gives birth this fall and take some time off from tennis until next year. The 35 year old 23-time Grand Slam champion announced she’s 20 weeks along on social media earlier this week and is engaged to Reuters co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
Beyonce will receive the prestigious Peabody Award for her HBO visual album, “Lemonade.” The Peabody recognizes excellence in television, radio and digital broadcasting. Organizers said about the piece, “The audacity of its reach and fierceness of its vision challenges our cultural imagination, while crafting a stunning and sublime masterpiece about the lives of women of color and the bonds of friendship seldom seen or heard in American popular culture.”
Richard Simmons is back home less than a week after he was hospitalized for “severe indigestion” in California. The LAPD confirmed that officers had to assist the fitness guru inside because of all the paparazzi that were gathered outside. Richard’s manager said, “He’s already feeling better and is expected to make a full recovery.” In the middle of his hospital stay, he took to Facebook to share his situation with fans.
“Captain America” Chris Evans will make his Broadway debut next year alongside Michael Cera in Kenneth Lonergan’s “Lobby Hero.” Lonergan is the Academy Award winning screenwriter of “Manchester by the Sea.” The play is set to open in the summer of 2018.
Hillary Duff and Matthew Koma have broken up after a few months of dating. The split actually happened back in March because of their busy schedules.
