Ben Affleck Reveals Rehab Stint

Ben Affleck revealed in a statement yesterday that he has just completed a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction.  In it, he explains he wants to be the “best father I can be” and wants to set a good example for his kids.  He also thanks his family and friends and his “co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do.”

Ewan McGregor, who plays Lumiere in Disney’s live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast,” admits he’s never seen the original animated film!  He confessed it on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and also defended Disney for including a gay character in the film, saying, “It’s 2017, for [explicit] sake!”  LaFou, played by Josh Gad, is Disney’s first openly gay character.

Adele – she does it all!  Not just a singer, but apparently a stand-up comedian?  They were having some technical difficulties at one of her concerts in Australia.  Her mic was still working, but the instrument sound from her band needed to be fixed.   In order to kill time, she said to the crowd, “Our power has gone out under the stage, so who knows how long we’re going to be doing this for.  Shall I tell you my filthy joke despite all the children here?  …I might offend someone.”  We’re not going to tell you the joke, it really was too filthy!  Google it J

Taylor Swift has reportedly filed paperwork for a streaming service she will dub “Swifties.”  The website will feature “non-downloadable multi-media content in the nature of audio recordings.”  There would also potentially be a store to shop for Swift gear and a line of her guitars.  She may also offer meet and greets.

SNL’s Weekend Update is getting a primetime spinoff!  Colin Jost and Michael Che will host four weekly half-hour telecasts beginning August 10th.

Spike TV will honor Alec Baldwin on July 9th.  The “One Night Only” special will bring together the actor’s friends and costars for a night of tribute and a roast.  It’s taping June 25th at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
